Rotelle’, punctuated by the colloquialism “the Samurai”, is a multidimensional creative using music to translate the messiness of their intersections into something comprehensible and enjoyable to listen to. Listen and you’ll find experimental synths layered over hip hop drum breaks and soulful samples as Rotelle’s slurred cadence scats across the track as they rap. Blending southern sensibilities and futuristic commentary, Rotelle’ wears identity and authenticity that has carried them across stage at the Langston Hughes Performing Arts Center for the first annual Seattle Black Nerd Fest, Open Mics hosted by A Space Inside, and Pop Up Venues such as the cozy Rhubarb Market. Transplanting to Seattle in 2023, Rotelle’ uses the change in scenario to finally come into themselves.
